iPublish Media has recently added the Memoriams network to AdPortal Obituaries that makes placing multi-market obituaries quick and easy for funeral homes. Aging boomers will account for a 70% increase in death over the next decade, and are the first transient generation in an increasingly mobile society. This added feature eliminates the painstaking inconvenience of searching for and contacting newspapers in other markets by reducing the time to publish to minutes and gaining more revenues for the industry overall.
Here’s How It Works:
Let’s say a funeral home in Salt Lake City has just placed a memorial notice in Deseret News and the family would like to add a newspaper in the Tampa Bay Area in Florida where the loved one lived most of their life.
The funeral director just clicks on the prompt to“pick another newspaper” from AdPay Memoriams network.
From there, it’s a simple drop down to select the next state, city and newspaper.
When they select the Tampa Bay Times, for example, the new obituary is automatically prepopulated and priced, and exposes the local style-guide for that newspaper.
It’s easy to edit the text and images, whether to meet guidelines or adjust the price and spellcheck is built in! Photo’s can be manually cropped for the new format using a WYSIWYG cropping tool.
There may be additional choices available, such as icons, and the obituary is ready to go.
Since payment is already in the system, check out is a snap and the whole process takes minutes, cutting about 90 minutes off the traditional order-entry process for an additional newspaper. In fact it is so simple that iPublish Media Solutions will be rolling out this feature to private parties at a later date.
